Marie Sklodowska-Curie Ph.D. Fellowships in Natural Sciences (17 positions)
The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the University of Oslo (UiO) has launched a CompSci is a Doctoral Program. CompSci combines a disciplinary doctoral program with intensive computational and data science training. The EU Horizon 2020 framework partly supports it under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action (MSCA) program - Co-funding of Regional, National, and International Program (COFUND).
The duration of CompSci doctoral fellowships is three years. Candidates cannot be appointed for more than one Ph.D. Research Fellowship at UiO.
Research areas: Astronomy, Biosciences, Chemistry, Geosciences, Mathematics, and Physics
Qualification requirements:
- Potential applicants of all nationalities are welcome to apply.
- Potential applicants must hold a master's degree or equivalent with a specialization described for each research proposal.
- A foreign completed degree (M.Sc.-level) corresponding to a minimum of four years in the Norwegian educational system
- Candidates without a master's degree have until 30 June 2022 to complete the final exam.
- Sound knowledge of the scientific area addressed by the project(s) of interest is advantageous.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills are necessary, along with strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Sound oral and written skills in English
- Research experience: At the date of the program call deadline, the candidate must be within the first four years (FTE-equivalent) of their research careers and cannot have started on a Ph.D. program.
- The applicants may not have resided and carried out their main activity in Norway for more than one year in the last three years, immediately before the program's first recruitment date (1 August 2022).
- As defined by the Geneva Convention, researchers with refugee status benefit from a less restrictive mobility rule: the refugee procedure (i.e., before refugee status is conferred) will not be counted as a period of residence/activity in Norway.

- CV. Potential applicants must clearly explain any research career gaps and unconventional paths. Please specify the exact duration and motives if the candidate has lived in Norway sometime during the last three years.
- Motivational letter with prioritization of up to 3 research projects
- Letter of recommendation (with ranking)
- Bachelor's and master's grade transcripts must be translated with official translations. Candidates without a master's degree have until 30 June 2022 to complete the final exam.
- Documentation of English proficiency
